Renovation in the summer of 2023

The buildings and grounds of Heikkilä Local History Museum are undergoing improvements in 2023, which makes the summer season shorter this year. We apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at the new and improved Heikkilä!

Accessibility

Heikkilä Local History Museum is unfortunately not wheelchair-friendly. The main entrance is accessed via steps, and the age of the building means that there are tight spaces, narrow doorways and high thresholds inside that can cause difficulties for people with reduced mobility.

The main routes outside are footpaths that are wheelchair-accessible. However, not all the buildings of the museum area can be reached along the footpaths.

Visitors have access to a flushing toilet during the museum’s opening hours, but the doorway has a high threshold. There are unfortunately no disabled toilets and no baby changing facilities.
