Sinkka’s Drawing Office
–
Sinkka’s Drawing Office combines professional museum preservation of collections with displays and engaging elements. The behind-the-scenes work of the museum is brought into public view in an entirely new kind of way.
The space is named after Stockmann’s Drawing Office, where lighting fixtures and furniture were designed and later manufactured in Kerava at the Orno lighting factory and the Keravan Puusepäntehdas, furniture makers factory. Sinkka’s Drawing Office preserves and manages archival collections related to the factories’ production and showcases fascinating aspects of design history.
Research Tuesdays 2–4 pm
On Tuesday afternoons, a museum collections specialist is present at Sinkka’s Drawing Office. You are warmly welcome to explore the collections and observe the work carried out with them.
