Sinkka’s new Collections Policy

The Kerava Vitality Services Committee confirmed the new Collections Policy for Museum Services on November 27, 2025.

The Collections Policy is the most important document for the museum’s collection management. It presents the history and nature of the collections and determines the principles and practices of collection work. According to the Finnish Museum Act, all museums receiving state funding must have a collection and a collection policy.

Sinkka’s collections showcase the highlights of Kerava’s local history and compelling works of contemporary art. Besides art, the collections include objects, photographs and archival material that tell the story of Kerava’s history, the development of the city and its Industrial Art and Design past. The stories they convey strengthen the community’s memory, help us understand social changes and the development of visual culture and build a bridge between the past, present, and future.
